Why should you choose a purebred Maltese Terrier puppy for your family

Maltese Terrier puppies are a great fit for families and couples who enjoy a low active lifestyle. They are full of love and will take any opportunity to play, making them the perfect fit for families or singles. One thing about Maltese Terrier puppies is that they don’t shed and grooming is a small price to pay when you consider they don’t shed hair everywhere.  They’re also friendly around strangers and welcome pats and cuddles from just about anyone!

Maltese Terriers are on the lighter side and can weigh up to 4kg on average, making them easy to cart around for trips to the beach or the dog park.

How to care for a Maltese Terrier puppy

Owning a puppy is a big responsibility, so you’ll need to be sure you and your family have the time to properly care for your new Maltese Terrier puppy. While they are generally low-maintenance animals, they do require:

  • Regular grooming — Thanks to their Maltese traits, Maltese Terriers do not shed fur — a huge win for those who hate vacuuming! However, they do require regular grooming and maintenance to keep their coat in immaculate condition. Maltese Terriers need regular brushes and a trip to the groomer every six to eight weeks.
  • Dry food — While the cost to feed these pups is relatively low, it’s recommended that you feed your Maltese Terrier dry kibble to prevent a build-up of tartar on their teeth.
  • Activity — Maltese Terriers have low exercise requirements and are happy inside dogs. Though to prevent boredom and keep them healthy, it’s recommended that they receive around 30 minutes of exercise a day.
